Resident Research

Our program is committed to providing our residents with opportunities to pursue research. Examples of our support for resident research include our Resident Scholar Activity Program initiative and our Physician Scientist Pathway. In addition, the Department of Internal Medicine provides a vibrant, and rapidly expanding environment for basic, clinical, and translational research. The University of Miami Miller School of Meidicine was awarded a total of $92 million in NIH funding in 2009 and ranks 42 among all U.S. medical schools in NIH funding. It is also ranked first in NIH funding among all Florida medical schools.
