International applicants must meet the following additional requirements:
  • Applicants must have taken or applied to take the USMLE step 2 CS at the time of application to the residency program (by January 31, 2011 for the step 2 CS)
  • ECFMG certification must be verified by the time of the match.
International Medical Graduates who are applying to our program and meet the criteria (attended medical school Latin America or the Caribbean, are not US citizens or permanent residents) are strongly encouraged to apply to the William J. Harrington Latin American training program. Please visit the website to learn more about this exciting resource that has been in place for over 40 years at www.med.miami.edu/imi/x35.xml.

International Medical Graduates should be aware that while we do not require clinical experience in the US, it certainly helps. Unfortunately the training program is only able to offer a limited number Observerships through the Latin American training program.
